Plain Collodion (5% w/v Nitrocellulose)
Small Batch for Freshness
This collodion is made using equal amounts of ethanol and ether, 50:50. This is how collodion was made back in the day, where the gun cotton was dissolved in a 50:50 mixture of ethanol and ether. The salts were added to a mixture of ethanol and ether mixed 50:50 or different ratio's based on time of year etc. This collodion will allow you to mix historical formulas with ease, or to make formulas with lower ether than modern USP collodion allows.
The Nitrocellulose amount in this collodion is 4% weight volume.
Intended for experienced formulators.
