Description

UVP X Salted Collodion

Fast. Stable. Easy to Develop. Built for Portraits.

Available ready to shoot or as a two-part kit, UVP X is trusted by many of today's professional wet plate photographers for its consistent performance and beautiful tonal rendering.

Developed for speed, stability, and ease of use, UVP X is a modern cadmium-based collodion designed for producing tintypes, ambrotypes, and glass negatives. Its carefully balanced formula delivers excellent sensitivity, broad tonal range, and reliable results throughout its working life.

Stored in a cool, dark place, UVP X maintains excellent working characteristics for 6–12 months, allowing photographers to work with confidence from the first plate to the last.

The slightly elevated bromide content produces rich tonal separation that is especially well suited for portraiture, while the image develops with excellent visibility, making it easier to judge development and consistently produce beautiful plates.

  • Excellent stability with a 6–12 month working life
  • Rich tonal range optimized for portraits

The absolute best collodion, I barely have to worry about its stability. Have used it for all sorts of shots and have little to no drop off, I mostly use it for studio work however.

This is my go to collodion for all of my portraits, and the occasional landscape. It is exceedingly user friendly. It is fast, renders images well, is long lasting and stable, and adheres to my plates well. I’ve been shooting for a little over two years, and it has worked well for me since plate #1. Great stuff!.
