You are purchasing one of 4 spots for our September Wet Plate Collodion Workshop.
Throughout the workshop, you will have access to a fully equipped darkroom, a range of antique and contemporary cameras & lens, and experienced instructors who will guide you through every step of the process. You will leave with a solid foundation in Wet Plate Collodion photography, a portfolio of your own creations, and a newfound appreciation for this historic photographic method.
If we don't get enough participants for a particular date we will reschedule or issue a refund.
Dates:
January 18th - 19th
This is a two day workshop
Day One will be instruction and making your own plates - 10:00am to 6:00p
Day Two will be supervised shooting making your own plates 12:00pm to 6:00pm
Location: 161 Mission Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90033

The instructors:
Brian Cuyler is a longtime wet plate photographer and camera builder who also runs UV Photographics, one of the premier suppliers of chemistry and equipment to the wet plate community. With a background in chemistry he has improved upon classic wet plate formulas making them are safer and easier to use. He has supplied and consulted with many of the leading contemporary wet plate photographers working today.
Michael Chylinski runs Modern Tintype, a contemporary wet plate portrait studio located in Los Angeles. His tintype images have appeared in exhibitions at galleries in the U.S. and abroad, and have also been part of literary collaborations such as 2016’s “Delicate Scratches” with the author Wendy Ortiz. His film photography has appeared in books, magazines and on album covers as far back as the late 1990s. His interest in photographic history also includes the found snapshot, and he is at work on a book of inscribed vernacular photos in collaboration with Atlanta’s Fall Line Press.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR WORKSHOP
Thank you for registering for the Wet Plate Collodion Workshop hosted by UV Photographics and Modern Tintype Photo. We understand that plans may change, and we have implemented the following cancellation policy.
Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel your registration before 3 weeks prior to the workshop you will receive a credit equal to the amount paid to be applied towards a future workshop, or if you prefer, a full refund.
If you cancel your registration after 3 weeks prior to the workshop, there will be no refund or credit issued.
UV Photographics or Modern Tintype Photo may cancel the Workshop at any time and will notify you immediately. In such a case, a full refund or credit towards a future workshop will be issued to you, based on your preference.
Transfer of Registration:
You may transfer your registration to another individual for the Workshop with prior notice to UV Photographics or Modern Tintype Photo.
The transfer must be completed no later than 2 days prior to the Workshop.
Application of Payment:
If you cancel your registration after 3 weeks prior to the workshop, and UV Photographics is able to fill the vacated spot, UV Photographics will apply the amount paid towards a future workshop.
The credit may be used towards any future workshop hosted by UV Photographics and Modern Tintype Photo for up to one year past the original Workshop date.
Miscellaneous:
This cancellation policy represents the entire understanding of the parties with respect to its subject matter and supersedes all prior negotiations, understandings, and agreements between the parties.
This cancellation policy may be modified or updated at any time by UV Photographics or Modern Tintype Photo and will be communicated to you.
